Jalisco is one of the most attractive states in Mexico with a viried weather depending on the area. In the coast we have a high temperature, at the central area there is a warm temperature, and at the mountains there is a cold temperature. Thus, it is an state that invites you to enjoy many of its different attractions in order to keep a nice and unforgettable memory.

 
 
Guadalajara is Jaliscos most visited city and it is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Latin America as well. This is the reason why the people decided to named it The West Pearl. Its Cathedral is one of the nicest buildings in town. It was built in 1561, nineteen years after Guadalajaras foundation. Also, La Plaza de Armas is sourranded by beautiful buildings such as El Palacio de Gobierno with its famous mural painted by the mexican muralist Jose Clemente Orozco. At La Plaza de la Liberacion you should visit El Teatro Degollado (Degollado Theater) built in 1856 where you can enjoy high quality performences. There is also La Iglesia de San Agustin (Saint Agustins Church) built at the end of the XVI century. Other buildings that might capture your attention are El Palacio de Justicia -The Justice Department Building-, El Hospital de Belen -Belen Hospital-, El Hospicio Caba attractions. You will notice that many of these buildings show influences such as the ghotic, the muslim and the neoclassic. All these are marvelous places that you should not forget to visit while you are touring around Guadalajara. However, Guadalajara offers you other kind of attractions as well. For example, La Plaza de los Mariachis where you will listen, and enjoy the traditional Mariachi music. Also, you will find good restaurants for all kind of tastes, nice malls, and discos if you like to dance.
 

 

San Pedro Tlaquepaque is a town only 8 kms. away from Guadalajara. It is one of the main crafts centers in the satate where all kind of beautiful crafts can be bought.
Tonala is located 18 kms away from Guadalajara. During Thursdays and Sundays the swap meet sells very attractive crafts designed by hand. The papel mache crafts are the towns speciality.
Chapala is another very attractive town in Jalisco. Its lake is a real touristic attraction because all kind of water sports can be practiced, and its natural environment makes it even more attractive.

 

 

BEACHES

In Jalisco you will find excellent golden beaches for your greatest pleasure. Located at theNorth of the state in the center of the famous Playa de los Muertos with more than 70 kms. in length, there are Playa de Oro, Las Palmas, Las Brisas, Playa Tranquila and Playa del Sol. At the South, Las Amapas, Las Conchas Chinas, Las Estacas, Los Venados, Punta Negra, Palo Maria, and Las Gemelas. Specially for divers there is La Playa de Mismaloya. At the southwest of Puerto Vallarta are located the beach and Cascade of Qumixto and Yelapa beach.
